Renegades Football Looking at New Approach for Players Fees

May 17, 2010 | 0 comments

Along with the rest of the State and Nation, the Oak Creek Renegades are struggling in the rocky economy. Team sponsorships are down and we've noticed a tremendous issue with players being able to afford their players fees which has also hindered new players from joining. To run the Renegades for one season, the cost is anywhere from $10,00-$15,000 which includes uniforms.

The Renegades will be trying something new to not only alleviate players fee, but get rid of them altogether. The team is participating in Football Frenzy, raffle tickets that are run by Oak Creek Alumni with a majority of the proceeds going towards Oak Creek High School's stadium renovation. The Renegades receive a portion of every ticket sale.

If we can sell 2,000 raffle tickets, we can eliminate players fees altogether and pay off all of our expenses before the season even starts in August. Another motiviation for players to sell is that the top seller will receive a 32" flat screen TV or the cash equivalent. If the team sells the full 2,000 or more, additional prizes will be awarded for 2nd and 3rd place.

If there are any players interested in playing this season, but haven't been able to participate due to the players fee, you are encouraged to join us this Saturday, May 22nd as we go out into Southeaster Wisconsin and sell raffle tickets. The goal is to try and sell 2,000 tickets or more.

We are hoping for a great turnout as more players/people involved, means that everyone has to sell less tickets per person.

All those interested should meet up at the Ryan Road Park and Ride this Saturday at 10AM. There will be a quick meeting and then tickets will be dispersed.

Anyone interested in purchasing tickets through the Renegades can download the order form off of our website at www.oakcreekrenegades or email Patrick Hansen at phansen@oakcreekrenegades.com

Any player interested in selling should also contact Patrick Hansen before Saturday.
