NEWS AND NOTES
Meeting notes: Our program was presented by Jean Davidson, who brought us up to date on Yell and Tell, which has been adopted by the Wauwatosa School District as part of the safety and health curriculum. Maggie Mulroy, a counselor for the District, explained how she discovered the program at a school counselor's convention and advocated its adoption. Jean gave us the presentation, so now we will all tell a big person when we feel afraid. You still have chance to see a presentation of the Yell and Tell program at Wauwatosa Catholic at 1:00 on May 18, St. Joseph's at 9:00 on May 22, or Our Redeemer Lutheran at 10:00 on May 21.
K Kids: Rich Woods read us a letter from the K-Kids, thanking us for support and telling us about their good works.
Lions Club blood drive: Saturday, May 12, from 8 AM to noon.
Member news: Mike D'Amore ran – metaphorically – into Warren Breitlow at Froedtert Hospital. Warren is still nursing some broken bones and hopes to be back in a month. Andy Barnes talked to Gary Krueger, who is happily settling into his new quarters.
Post-prom: Bob Reinhardt has plenty of room for volunteers on May 19 at Dave & Busters.
Golf: An entry flyer and directions are attached. Kevin Dwyer says we only have a fifth of the foursomes we should have. Talk to Kevin about being a hole sponsor.
Independence Day parade: Pres Taylor submitted the Club's entry form, and John Cable recruited another antique car to drive for the Club.
Officers: Ed Ellingson and his nominating committee are recruiting. He needs four directors and one vice president.
Spelling Bee: August 2 at the Country Springs Hotel, sponsored by the Elm Grove Golden K. We are slowly assembling our spelling team.
Meetings: Tuesday noon, Mayfair Mall Community Room
