Oak Creek bowlers claim middle school state crown

The Oak Creek Middle School bowling team won the state tournament championship on May 5 with a total pinfall of 2,194.

The team, in its first year of competition, represents Classic Lanes of Oak Creek and is coached by Jeff Wroblewski, Sr., Steve Miszewski and Craig Wroblewski.

Greendale's Boyle named first-team all-WIAC in softball

Katie Boyle of Greendale, a St. Thomas More graduate, made the first all-Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference team for softball this season.

Boyle went 15-5 with a 2.07 earned-run average, with the 15 victories tied for second in the conference and the ERA fourth in the league. She worked 132 innings with 14 complete games and five shutouts. Boyle also tallied 80 strikeouts and held opponents to a .248 batting average while not throwing a single wild pitch.
