1Gold earrings, a sapphire and diamond ring and a gold band, valued at $2,600, were stolen from a locked residence in the 2000 block of East Forest Hill Avenue between 6:15 a.m. and 1:40 p.m. Sept. 21. The suspect(s) entered the home through a bedroom window. Police are following up with a possible suspect.
2A locked pond house was broken into and rummaged through in the 9400 block of South Nicholson Road shortly before 7:30 p.m. Sept. 21. The unknown suspect(s) took a door off its frame to gain entry, but the homeowner stated nothing was missing. Damage is estimated at $280.
3A resident reported two sweaters, valued at $100, were stolen from a closet in his locked apartment in the 6800 block of South Birdsong Drive between Sept. 16 and Sept. 21.
4A 74-year-old Greenfield man was arrested for shoplifting after he was seen concealing $22 worth of tools in his coat pocket at Menards, 6800 S. 27th St., at 1:10 p.m. Sept. 19.
5On Sept. 20, the owner of Shell Gas, 2170 W. Ryan Road, called police to report the theft of 30 $10 lottery tickets by a former employee on Aug. 14. The suspect, a 28-year-old Milwaukee woman, allegedly cashed in the winning tickets to collect $210 before her last day of employment Aug. 17. Police are seeking the former employee for questioning.
6A 66-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for shoplifting seven bottles of vodka, valued at $245, after he and a female accomplice were observed concealing the bottles on surveillance video at Mobil Gas, 9510 S. 27th St., between 12:15 and 12:25 p.m. Sept. 16. He was also cited for obstructing after he refused to identify the female suspect.
7A 17-year-old Oak Creek girl was arrested for shoplifting a bottle of orange juice at Woodman's, 8131 S. Howell Ave., at 5 p.m. Sept. 20.
8An 87-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting a metal ball plunger, valued at $11, at Menards, 6800 S. 27th St., at 11:40 a.m. Sept. 21.
9Two unknown men shoplifted two $529 First Alert home security systems at Menards, 6800 S. 27th St., at 4:15 p.m. Sept. 23. The suspects, described as two males in their 40s, fled the store in an unknown direction.
10An unknown male suspect shoplifted $755 worth of Blu-ray DVDs at Target, 8989 S. Howell Ave., at 7:50 p.m. Sept. 22. The suspect, a male in his early 20s, loaded up his cart with DVDs and left the store without paying.
11A $60,000 tractor-trailer was stolen from Wisconsin Kenworth, 9350 S. 22nd St., between 9:30 and 11 p.m. on Sept. 22. The owner of the semi, a 35-year-old South Milwaukee man, drove southbound on Interstate 94 and located the semi and trailer in a ditch just off the Wisconsin/Illinois borderline. Police are following up with the owner for possible suspect information.
12An unknown female with a baby in a carrier shoplifted $275 worth of baby formula at Pick 'n Save, 6462 S. 27th St., at 6:30 p.m. Sept. 23. Police are following up with a possible suspect.
A 17-year-old Milwaukee boy was arrested on a state charge of sexual assault of a child after he allegedly tried to rape his 15-year-old cousin at her home in Oak Creek shortly after 4 p.m. Sept. 24. The victim was transported by OCFD to Sinai Hospital for evaluation.
13A 16-year-old Oak Creek boy was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after a glass pipe with marijuana residue fell out of his backpack while he was being questioned by the school resource officer at Oak Creek High School, 340 E. Puetz Road, at 10:20 a.m. Sept. 20.
14A 20-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for possession of marijuana when officers found a marijuana cigar and 3.36 grams of marijuana in a plastic bag in his front pants pocket after canine officer Kuno indicated on his room at Days Inn, 1201 W. College Ave., at 8 a.m. Sept. 22.
15An officer checking on a disabled vehicle in the 8600 block of South 13th Street arrested a 20-year-old Milwaukee man for possession of drug paraphernalia after the officer found a green, metal one-hitter pipe with charred marijuana residue in plain view on the front driver's seat of his car at 4:40 p.m. Sept. 24.
16A 43-year-old Racine man was arrested for drunken driving and cited for operating with prohibited alcohol content in the 7600 block of South Howell Avenue at 9:35 p.m. Sept. 22. His preliminary blood alcohol content was 0.16.
17A mailbox was damaged and broken off its post in the 9400 block of South 15th Avenue between 11 a.m. and 6:15 p.m. Sept. 18. Damage is estimated at $100.
18An unknown suspect(s) damaged a mailbox in the 8800 block of South Shepard Avenue between 8:10 and 9:30 a.m. Sept. 23.
19A 20-year-old Oak Creek man was cited for underage drinking/possession of alcohol in the 1900 block of East Puetz Road at 2:35 a.m. Sept. 20. His preliminary blood alcohol content was 0.09.
20A 15-year-old boy was arrested for disorderly conduct after he deliberately threw a 16-year-old girl in the pond at the Miller Park Pavilion, 315 E. Groveland Drive, at 3:45 p.m. Sept. 21.
21An officer responded to a report of a swan walking in the road and cars were swerving to avoid hitting it at the intersection of South Howell Avenue and West Puetz Road at 3:35 p.m. Sept. 22. When the officer arrived he found the swan in the City Hall parking lot. Springbrook Circle maintenance employees arrived to claim the swan and were able to catch it and return it to its home.
22Officers responding to a report of an underage drinking party arrested a 15-year-old boy for possession of drug paraphernalia and cited him for underage possession of alcohol at a residence in the 800 block of East Mackinac Avenue at 11:30 p.m. Sept. 22. A 19-year-old Oak Creek man was also cited for underage drinking.
23Officers responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle arrested two 26-year-old Milwaukee men for possessing open intoxicants in a vehicle, operating without insurance, operating after revocation (driver) and loitering (passenger) after they were seen driving slowly and checking out residences in the 8800 block of South 13th Street shortly after 4 a.m. Sept. 23.
24Oak Creek Fire Department and police responded to a report of a 7-year-old boy about 75 yards off shore who appeared to be drowning at Bender Park, 4503 E. Ryan Road, at 2:48 p.m. Sept. 23. Apparently the child was playing on the shoreline and was swept into the water by a wave, but was rescued by his father before officer's arrival. The child was transported to Children's Hospital for evaluation.
25Police and firefighters responded to a report of a vehicle on fire on South Shepard Avenue and East Highway 100 at 8:05 a.m. Sept. 18. The driver of the vehicle, a 52-year-old Racine man, told officials the back of his work van started smoking and he pulled over when he saw flames. The fire was quickly extinguished and was believed to be caused by an electrical malfunction. There were no injuries.
Oak Creek police responded to three domestic violence calls and assisted with 19 rescue calls and four fire calls between Sept. 18 and Sept. 24.
