1A $60 computer case containing an $850 laptop computer; a laptop computer valued at $690; a software/cable kit valued at $1,500; and $520 worth of computer adapters and cables were stolen from a locked vehicle in the 8100 block of South White Oak Drive between 6 p.m. March 2 and 6 a.m. March 4. A door lock was punched out to gain entry. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $400.
2A wallet containing a debit card, two credit cards, $10, a driver's license and a pre-paid car wash card was stolen at Milwaukee Area Technical College, 6665 S. Howell Ave., between 5 and 7 p.m. March 3. Unauthorized charges were made with the debit card at a Hometown gas station and a Speedway station during that time frame. Police are following up with the businesses in an attempt to identify the thief.
3A woman was arrested for shoplifting after she was seen concealing $130 worth of merchandise inside her purse at Kohl's, 9035 S. Howell Ave., and then attempted to flee when an employee tried to detain her about 2:10 p.m. March 4. Store security detained her inside her vehicle in the parking lot, where police took her into custody.
4A boy was arrested for theft after he stole another student's $200 cellphone out of a locked locker in the pool locker room at Oak Creek High School, 340 E. Puetz Road, March 4. The boy was found at his home, where he admitted going into the locker room and stealing several cellphones out of lockers. He threw two of them in a snowbank. The officer found a black iPhone in the snowbank, and another stolen iPhone in the boy's room but the third stolen phone was not found.
5Two males shoplifted a $75 Xbox controller and two PS4 controllers, valued at $60 each, at Target, 8989 S. Howell Ave., by ripping off the security devices, concealing them and walking out of the store about noon March 4.
6A male stole a Playstation 4 wireless headset, valued at $100, and two $60 Xbox controllers at Target, 8989 S. Howell Ave., about 5:30 p.m. March 4. Store security told police the same person was responsible for a shoplifting incident Feb. 24, when he exited the store without paying for a $60 Xbox controller and a $60 Playstation 4 controller.
7A man was arrested for shoplifting, disorderly conduct and providing false identification to police after he was caught attempting to steal a shopping cart loaded with $218 worth of groceries at Pick 'n Save, 2320 W. Ryan Road, and then physically assaulted store employees who attempted to detain him about 4:35 p.m. March 5.
8A male stole two PS3 systems and one Xbox 360, valued at $540, at Game Stop, 8171 S. Howell Ave., about 2:30 p.m. March 6.
9Two males were arrested March 6 for receiving stolen property and another male was arrested for theft in excess of $2,500 in connection with the theft of more than $7,500 worth of jewelry from a home in the 10300 block of South Hummingbird Lane between Feb. 26 and March 2.
10A $90 Coach purse containing a driver's license, keys and three credit cards was stolen from a patron at Classic Lanes, 7501 S. Howell Ave., between 11:30 and 11:45 p.m. March 7.
11A male student was arrested for battery after he ran after and physically assaulted another male student in a hallway at Oak Creek High School, 340 E. Puetz Road, about 3:40 p.m. March 4. The boy was apparently dancing around while talking to a group of students in the hallway when the victim put his hand on the boy's shoulder in order to walk past him and keep him from stepping backward into him. The boy then chased the student down the hall, "puffed up his chest" and punched the victim three to six times in the face without provocation.
12A girl was arrested for possession of marijuana after police received a report that she was caught on video surveillance smoking an electronic hooka pen at Oak Creek High School, 340 E. Puetz Road, and found 0.4 grams of marijuana in her possession during a search about 1:20 p.m. March 7.
13A man was arrested for drunken driving and cited for speeding in the 1200 block of East College Avenue at 2:25 a.m. March 6. He admitted to having one drink after work; his blood-alcohol content was 0.18.
14A woman was arrested for drunken driving and cited for following too closely after she rear-ended a vehicle that was slowing down for a yellow light in the 1800 block of West Rawson Avenue at 6:05 p.m. March 7. She admitted to drinking at On The Border before driving but refused to take a breath test. She was taken into custody.
15A man was arrested for drunken driving and driving with a suspended license and cited for illegal use of a radio after he pulled up next to a squad car stopped at traffic light with his bass blasting loudly out of his car stereo, looked at the officer several times without lowering the volume, and then took off when the light turned green and swerved out of his lane several times in front of the officer in the 2200 block of West Ryan Road about 10:45 p.m. March 8. His BAC was 0.23.
16A man was arrested for drunken driving and cited for violating a red traffic signal in the 1000 block of East College Avenue about 1:10 a.m. March 9. A female passenger in the vehicle was highly intoxicated and was taken to Wheaton Franciscan for evaluation. The man also was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police found a glass pipe with THC residue in his pocket, and then searched his vehicle and found a bag with 9.5 grams of marijuana, a digital scale and a grinder. His BAC was 0.80.
17A man was arrested for drunken driving after he was pulled over for swerving over the yellow line and driving in excess of 50 mph in the 800 block of East Puetz Road at 3:15 a.m. March 9. His BAC was 0.25.
18A man was arrested for drunken driving and cited for making an improper right turn in the 2500 block of West Ryan Road about 2 a.m. March 10. He admitted to consuming one beer prior to driving. His BAC was 0.15.
19A man was arrested for drunken driving after he was pulled over for an unsafe lane deviation in the 6800 block of South 27th Street at 11:40 p.m. March 10. He stated he consumed one wine cooler about 4:30 p.m. and also took a sleeping pill. His BAC was 0.12.
20Two people were taken to St. Luke's Hospital after a three-vehicle accident in the 7300 block of South 13th Street about 9:45 a.m. March 4. One driver was cited for driving without a valid driver's license and another driver was cited for driving with a revoked license and failure to maintain control of a vehicle.
21Two people were taken to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital with minor injuries after they collided at 13th Street and Puetz Road, causing one of the vehicles to strike a light pole, about 7:40 a.m. March 6. Both drivers claimed they each had the green light at the time of the accident, and no citations were issued at the scene.
22A parks employee reported that the bathrooms at the Cudahy Nature Preserve, 501 E. College Ave., were spray-painted with white paint at 4:25 p.m. March 10. Damage is estimated at $300.
23The Oak Creek Fire Department and police responded to a trash compactor fire at Reinhart Foods, 9950 S. Reinhart Drive, about 8:40 p.m. March 4. The compactor on the northeast corner of the building was smoking when emergency workers arrived, and was extinguished by firefighters. The fire was believed to have been caused by something chemical in nature as the compactor was locked and no one had access to the compactor on that shift. No injuries were reported.
24An employee reported a counterfeit $5 bill was passed at Menards, 6800 S. 27th St., at 1:45 p.m. March 4. The bill was discovered about 12:30 p.m.; it was unknown when it was passed.
