Police Report: Jan. 22

BURGLARY

1Four $100 tire rims, two $100 "Dodge 100" emblems, four red/amber lights valued at $300, a $150 transmission kit and other items were stolen out of a truck in a locked garage in the 4000 block of East Fitzsimmons Road between Nov. 1 and 3:50 p.m. Jan. 21. It is not known how the thief gained entry. Police are following up with a neighbor who witnessed a suspicious vehicle in the area.

2A $1,500, 55-inch television and a $200 videogame system were stolen from a home in the 2800 block of East Emily Avenue between 4:30 and 8 p.m. Jan. 18. A garage service door was kicked in and the thief then entered the home through the garage. Damage to the home is estimated at $700.

3Two subwoofers were stolen from a garage in the 2400 block of West Lindenwood Avenue between 7 p.m. Jan. 18 and 9 p.m. Jan. 20. Loss is estimated at $250.

THEFT

4A $100 ring, a $200 guitar and a $175 Apple iPod Touch were reported stolen from a home in the 3600 block of East Elm Road between Jan. 1 and Jan. 14. The resident's 16-year-old son admitted stealing the guitar and police are questioning the boy about the other missing items.

5A $150 in-dash radio was stolen out of a locked car at LaQuinta, 7141 S. 13th St., between 8 p.m. Jan. 12 and 7:10 p.m. Jan. 20. A window was smashed to gain entry. Damage to the window and dashboard is estimated at $2,500.

6A 1990 Honda Accord was stolen from the parking lot at Oak Creek High School, 340 E. Puetz Road, about 8 a.m. Jan. 14. The car was found in the 900 block of South 31st Street at 7:45 p.m. that day and returned to its owner.

7A truck's driver-side door handle was broken during break-in attempt in the 9800 block of South Austin Street between 4:30 p.m. Jan. 14 and 3:30 a.m. Jan. 15. Damage to the door is estimated at $40.

8A $50 iPhone charger was stolen from a locked vehicle in the 500 block of East Quail Run between 9 p.m. Jan. 14 and 8:50 a.m. Jan. 15. There were no signs of forced entry.

9A purse containing six keys, makeup, a wallet, credit and debit cards, and $315 was stolen from an employee at Melrose Restaurant, 6840 S. 27th St., between 4:45 and 7:15 p.m. Jan. 16. Police are reviewing surveillance footage.

10A 31-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested for shoplifting $18 worth of valve caps and decals at Auto Zone, 311 E. Puetz Road, at 9:50 a.m. Jan. 18, and also was taken into custody on an Oak Creek Police Department warrant.

11A $100 BMX bicycle was stolen out of an unlocked garage in the 400 block of East Oak Lane between 5 and 6:30 p.m. Jan. 18. The bicycle was found at a home in the 10000 block of South Austin Street on Jan. 20 and returned to its owner.

12Ten CDs and a $25 Michael Jordan drawstring bag containing a $60 videogame controller, a $60 videogame and three prescription medications were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 3900 block of East High Street between 9 a.m. and 4:55 p.m. Jan. 19.

13A $250 GPS unit was stolen from a locked car at LaQuinta, 7141 S. 13th St., between 4:30 and 7:30 p.m. Jan. 20. A window was smashed to gain entry, causing about $400 in damage to the car.

14Two locked vehicles, a minivan and an SUV were broken into at LaQuinta, 7141 S. 13th St., before 7:30 p.m. Jan. 20. Windows were broken on the vehicles; however, officers could not immediately find the owners to determine if anything had been taken.

15An $8 pack of Newport cigarettes was stolen out of a locked car at Miltec, 6870 S. 10th St., between 5:30 and 7:30 a.m. Jan. 21. A window was broken to get inside, resulting in $200 damage.

16About $10 in coins and a $1,200 wedding band were stolen from a vehicle at AAA Sales & Engineering, 1120 W. Northbranch Drive, about 6:25 a.m. Jan. 21. An employee saw someone exit the car and leave the area; police are following up.

17An employee at Dunham Express, 7420 S. 10th St., called police Jan. 21 to report two Walgreens customers reported being shorted on narcotics deliveries Dec. 31 and Jan. 11. An investigation is ongoing.

ASSAULT

18A 46-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for battery for kicking her boyfriend in the groin after he asked her to leave his apartment in the 8400 block of South Fifth Avenue about 12:30 a.m. Jan. 18. Additionally, she was taken into custody on a Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office warrant for prostitution.

DRUG POSSESSION

19A 25-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested for possession of marijuana after police found about 5 grams of THC in his car after he was arrested for driving with a revoked license in the 2600 block of West Drexel Avenue at 3:50 a.m. Jan. 15.

20A 21-year-old Cudahy man was arrested for possession of marijuana after a canine officer found two blunts inside an ashtray in the passenger-side door of his car during a traffic stop at Bender Park, 4503 E. Ryan Road, at 8:20 p.m. Jan. 16.

21Officers responding to a report of a loud party in a room at the Red Roof Inn, 6360 S. 13th St., arrested a 17-year-old Milwaukee girl for possession of marijuana and underage possession of alcohol after they found a knotted plastic bag containing THC on the bathroom floor at 11:45 p.m. Jan. 19. Police also cited a 19-year-old Milwaukee man for obstructing an officer and a 19-year-old Milwaukee woman for contributing to underage drinking after she admitted renting the room and hosting the party.

22A 39-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a canine officer found a glass pipe with burned residue and 10 grams of THC in the woman's room during a drug sweep at Value Inn, 9420 S. 29th St., at 4:35 p.m. Jan. 20.

23A 22-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested for possession of marijuana and cited for possession of drug paraphernalia and a 20-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after police received a tip that drug deals were being conducted in the parking lot at Shell Gas, 2170 W. Ryan Road, at 12:45 a.m. Jan. 21. The 20-year-old also was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon after officers found a wood-handled machete in the vehicle.

ACCIDENTS

24A 74-year-old Salem man was taken to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital for evaluation after a possible medical condition caused him to cross the center line while driving south on 13th Street and strike a vehicle driving north on 13th Street at Buckingham Drive about 3:35 p.m. Jan. 17. Both cars were severely damaged and were towed from the scene.

25A 42-year-old Oak Creek man was cited for reckless driving and hit and run after he left his truck in a ditch after it swerved off the roadway and struck a light pole, causing damage to the overhead light on the west side of Forest Hill Avenue at Pennsylvania Avenue about 3:10 a.m. Jan. 20. Police found the man, who admitted he struck the pole after he yanked the steering wheel to the left during an argument with his wife, accidentally causing him to lose control of the truck.

OTHER

26A resident called police about 4:30 p.m. Jan. 14 after her daycare provider in the 8100 block of South Wildwood Drive told her that her 2-year-old's shoes smelled "like skunk," and the resident later found a plastic bag containing a small amount of marijuana in the shoe. Officers questioned the child's father, who had dropped his son at daycare that day, and he stated his son's shoes were bought at a rummage sale and he had no idea where the marijuana came from.

27A 17-year-old Oak Creek boy and a 15-year-old Milwaukee girl were arrested for disorderly conduct after they threw food at one another and the girl was seen punching the boy during a fight in the lunchroom at Oak Creek High School, 340 E. Puetz Road, about noon Jan. 15.

28A resident in the 8500 block of South 15th Avenue called police after she found a toilet in front of her home Jan. 16, and then found a washing machine outside her home about 6:10 a.m. Jan. 19. The woman believed it was a prank, but officers traced the serial number on the washing machine and discovered it had been stolen in Florida. The washer was placed into evidence and the Street Department picked up the toilet.

29A 19-year-old Milwaukee woman and a 35-year-old Milwaukee man were arrested for obstruction after they gave officers false names during a drug investigation at Days Inn, 1201 W. College Ave., at 9:45 p.m. Jan. 16.

30A 31-year-old Racine man was arrested for carrying a concealed weapon without a permit after he pulled up next to a vehicle in the 1400 block of West Drexel Avenue, rolled down his window, pointed some kind of weapon at the driver and motioned like he was shooting the weapon at 4:10 p.m. Jan. 17. Police located a stun gun in his vehicle as well as a deployed cartridge.

31A 53-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct after he yelled at an employee, refused to leave, then threatened to get a gun and shoot someone at Tri City National Bank, 6462 S. 27th St., at 11:30 a.m. Jan. 18.

32A 46-year-old Milwaukee woman and a 43-year-old Oak Creek woman were cited for disorderly conduct after they created a loud disturbance in an apartment in the 1800 block of West Timber Ridge Lane at 8:15 p.m. Jan. 18. They were apparently screaming at each other because one woman's son was trying to get the other woman's son blocked from an online videogame.

33A 47-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for disorderly conduct and loitering after he shouted obscenities at employees, kicked the front door and refused to leave 7-Eleven, 1225 W. Rawson Ave., about 5 p.m. Jan. 21.

Oak Creek police responded to two domestic violence calls and assisted with 19 rescue calls and one fire call between Jan. 14 and Jan. 21.
