1A safe containing $400, a set of keys and some True Value Paint software was stolen from Tri City True Value Hardware, 6312 S. 27th St., between 4 p.m. Dec. 9 and 11:55 a.m. Dec. 10. A rear door was pried open to gain entry to the building, and police recovered a hammer and screwdriver left behind where the safe had been.
2An unidentified man stole $355 worth of groceries at PDQ Food Store, 6300 S. 27th St., about 2:25 p.m. Dec. 7. The theft was captured on surveillance video.
3A $125 GPS unit and two $100 DVD players were stolen out of an unlocked vehicle in the 100 block of East Stuart Court between noon Dec. 8 and 11 a.m. Dec. 10.
4A $300 GPS unit, a $50 jacket, a $50 sweatshirt and a $20 Swiss Army leather binder containing contact information for about 180 patients was stolen out of a locked vehicle in the 100 block of West Rainbow Ridge Drive between 8 p.m. Dec. 8 and 2:30 p.m. Dec. 9. The rear passenger window was broken to gain entry.
5Three unidentified women shoplifted 20 packages of hair extensions, valued at $997, at Sally's Beauty, 8907 S. Howell Ave., about 12:30 p.m. Dec. 10. The women, who were described as one heavy-set black woman and two thin black women, all with multicolored hair, were last seen running in different directions outside the store. An employee told police the three women have attempted to shoplift items from the store in the past.
6A $300 Playstation Vita was stolen from a woman's purse while she was visiting friends in the 10300 block of South Oriole Lane before 4:30 p.m. Dec. 10.
7A $2,000 air-conditioning unit was stolen from a trailer at Oak Creek Estates, 2137 W. College Ave., between 6 p.m. Dec. 10 and 4:15 p.m. Dec. 11.
8Two gold rings, valued together at $2,600, a $529 gold aquamarine ring, a $15 Hello Kitty change purse, a $200 iPod touch and a GPS unit were stolen from the center console of a locked vehicle in the 8300 block of South Newbury Drive between 2 and 6 a.m. Dec. 11. The passenger-side door was pried open to gain entry, causing $50 damage to the vehicle.
9A muffler, valued at $100, was stolen off a car in the 6400 block of South 20th Street between 10:45 p.m. Dec. 11 and 10:45 a.m. Dec. 12.
10A 17-year-old Oak Creek boy was arrested for theft and criminal trespassing after he was seen breaking into vehicles in the parking lot at Timber Ridge Apartments, 6930 S. 20th St., at 1:30 a.m. Dec. 12. The boy admitted taking items, including two GPS units and a car stereo, from unlocked cars. Police confiscated the items and returned them to their owners.
11Three outgoing letters containing utility bill payments were stolen from a mailbox in the 7500 block of South Madison Drive between 8:45 and 9:45 a.m. Dec. 13.
12About $71 was stolen from an unlocked van in the 9100 block of South Meyer Lane between 9 p.m. Dec. 13 and 6 a.m. Dec. 14.
13A woman's purse and a wallet containing a credit card, two debit cards, a driver's license and multiple department store gift cards were stolen from a locked vehicle in the parking lot at DiCarlo Trattoria & Pizzeria, 8469 S. Howell Ave., between 3:30 and 5:15 p.m. Dec. 14. The rear window was shattered to gain entry. Loss is estimated at $500.
14A $30 pair of jeans, a wallet containing personal identification, a driver's license and $20, and a $75 backpack containing school homework and notebooks were stolen out of an unlocked vehicle at Xperience Fitness, 8601 S. Howell Ave., between 3 and 4:05 p.m. Dec. 15.
15A $2,000 laptop computer, two $70 DVD screens, a $70 portable DVD player and three $95 boxes of new, unopened Lego sets were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in an unsecured garage in the 400 block of East Arbor Circle between 6 p.m. Dec. 15 and 7:10 p.m. Dec. 16.
16A child's backpack containing homework and two school library books was stolen from an unlocked vehicle in a driveway in the 500 block of East Darlene Lane between 10 p.m. Dec. 16 and 7:30 a.m. Dec. 17. Another unlocked vehicle was rummaged through but nothing was reported missing from it.
17An officer investigating an occupied vehicle parked at Woodman's, 8151 S. Howell Ave., arrested a 19-year-old Oak Creek man for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after finding a homemade pipe and a pill bottle containing 0.30 grams of THC on the floor of the vehicle shortly before 7 p.m. Dec. 15.
18An 18-year-old Oak Creek man was arrested for possession of marijuana after officers found a joint in his back pocket while arresting him for spray-painting a railroad bridge in the 800 block of West Drexel Avenue shortly after 3 p.m. Dec. 16.
19A 34-year-old Racine woman was arrested for drunken driving in the 800 block of East College Avenue at 12:30 a.m. Dec. 13. Her blood-alcohol content was 0.19.
20Two 16-year-old girls and a 14-year-old girl, all of Oak Creek, were arrested for criminal damage to property and criminal trespass to a dwelling after they broke into a vacant home in the 8300 block of South Howell Avenue and dumped white paint over the walls, floors and windows at 9:40 a.m. Dec. 12.
21A 54-year-old Milwaukee woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after she threatened to get a gun and stated, "I'm going to come back and shoot all you (expletives)!" at Viper Transport, 190 W. Marquette Ave., at 2:15 p.m. Dec. 14. She was employed at Viper. The business went on lockdown prior to her returning from a delivery run and then banned her from the property after she was cited.
22A 17-year-old Oak Creek boy was arrested for disorderly conduct and trespassing and a 16-year-old Franklin boy was arrested for disorderly conduct after they used profanities and made threatening remarks to the manager at Pick 'n Save, 8770 S. Howell Ave., about 4:15 p.m. Dec. 14. The two were asked to leave the store due to a past shoplifting incident and became disorderly when the manager tried to remove them from the store.
23A resident at Brandywood Apartments, 580 W. Riverwood Drive, reported that three boys outside her apartment window pulled down their pants and told her and her daughter to "(expletive) this" shortly after 6 p.m. Dec. 14. The caller described two as being about 12 to 14 years old. Officers were unable to locate the boys.
24A 19-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy, both of Oak Creek, were arrested for disorderly conduct and trespassing after they were caught throwing a piece of fruit at a house in the 100 block of East Oakfield Drive at 11:20 p.m. Dec. 16. The 17-year-old admitted he went to his neighbor's house and threw the fruit because "he was bored."
25A manager at The Gables called police after a tenant found two dead geese hanging from a tree on a trail to the east of 322 E. Pine Hollow Lane at 3:20 p.m. Dec. 17. It is unknown how the geese died or why they were in the tree, and there have been no reports of people harassing geese in the area.
Oak Creek police assisted with 19 rescue calls and three fire calls between Dec. 10 and Dec. 17.
