College Avenue bridge closed until fall

The College Avenue bridge over Interstate 94 this week was scheduled to close until November.

Construction crews will demolish and rebuild the bridge. During the closure, motorists will need to use 27th Street, Rawson Avenue and Howell Avenue to get around the bridge.

College Avenue park-and-ride lots and I-94 ramps also will close beginning mid May to allow the entire College Avenue interchange to be rebuilt.

The northeast park-and-ride lot is scheduled to reopen in late August. The southeast lot and the interchange ramps are scheduled to reopen in November.

A temporary park-and-ride lot will be available for public use at Milwaukee Area Technical College's parking lot B, which is accessible from Howell Avenue between College and Rawson.

All closures are weather-dependent. For information, visit plan94.org.
