Oak Creek Police Report: June 26, 2014 issue

June 24, 2014

Theft

1 An unidentified male and female shoplifted $266 worth of baby formula and other items at Pick 'n Save, 2320 W. Ryan Road, and then fled in a blue Chevrolet Aveo at about 7:10 p.m. June 16. They are also suspects in a similar shoplifting incident at the Howell Avenue Pick 'n Save.

2 A male was arrested for shoplifting meat and liquor at Pick N Save, 6462 S. 27th St., after he fled from the store and was captured by two off-duty police officers at about 6:30 p.m. June 17.

3 About $20,000 worth of ophthalmology and medical equipment was stolen from a locked van parked in the 200 block of East Drexel Avenue between the late evening hours of June 17 and 10 a.m. June 18. The person entered the van by breaking the rear driver's side window.

4 A vehicle was stolen out of the parking lot at Menards, 6800 S. 27th St., at about 6:35 p.m. June 18. The caller stated the vehicle was locked but that there was a spare key in the middle console. The suspect was last seen traveling northbound on South 27th Street.

5 A male was arrested for shoplifting after he was seen concealing a 12-pack of condoms at Woodman's, 8131 S. Howell Ave., at about 9:05 p.m. June 18. He told police he stole the condoms because he was too embarrassed to buy them.

6 An orange-colored Multi-quip, three-inch "trash" pump with a Honda motor, valued at $1,485, was stolen from a construction site on South Howell Avenue and East Elm Road sometime between 4:30 p.m. June 18 and 6:30 a.m. June 19.

7 A woman was arrested for shoplifting after she was seen concealing a salmon filet and a cod filet inside her purse at Piggly Wiggly, 2201 E. Rawson Ave., and then tried to hide the stolen items under the seat of her vehicle when she was followed out into the parking lot by store security at about 1:50 p.m. June 19.

8A Zildjian Ping Ride 22-inch cymbal, valued at $350, was stolen off a drum set at a residence in the 3900 block of East High Street sometime between 3:15 p.m. June 17 and 3:15 p.m. June 19. Police have the name of a possible suspect and are investigating.

· A man was arrested for shoplifting after he was seen taking about $118 worth of women's panties and bras into the men's fitting rooms and then exited the area without the items at about 5:45 p.m. June 19. After he exited the store and was stopped by security, the man admitted he was wearing the women's undergarments underneath his clothing.

9 A wallet containing a driver's license, four credit cards and $150 cash was stolen while the owner was shopping at Kohl's, 9035 S. Howell Ave., and the suspect(s) used one of her credit cards to make a fraudulent purchase sometime between 4 and 5 p.m. June 20.

10 A man was arrested for shoplifting after he attempted to steal $214 worth of baby formula at Pick N Save, 2320 W. Ryan Road, and when security attempted to stop him in the parking lot, he started physically fighting with employees at about 4:55 p.m. June 21.

11 A reflex bow, valued at $550, was reported stolen out of a resident's garage in the 3700 block of East Becker Road at 8:30 p.m. June 21. The resident stated the theft occurred sometime over the past few months.

12 Two hanging plants, valued at $70, were reported stolen from a property in the 1200 block of East Meadowview Drive at 11:25 a.m. June 22.

13 A purple Dynacraft Power Climber bicycle, valued at $150, was stolen from a garage in the 500 block of West Riverwood Drive sometime between 5 p.m. June 22 and 7 p.m. June 23.

14 A Colt 1911 .45 caliber semi-automatic handgun and a Beretta PX4 Compact Storm 9mm handgun were reported stolen from a home in the 7200 block of South Delaine Drive at 10:25 a.m. June 23. The caller stated the theft possibly occurred in February, when he was on vacation, and gave police the name of a possible suspect.

Drug possession

15 One male was cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and another male was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after police found a pipe, a grinder, an electronic smoking device and 9.7 grams of marijuana wax inside their vehicle when it was pulled over for speeding in the 7300 block of South Pennsylvania Avenue at about 12:20 a.m. June 21.

16 A male was arrested for possession of cocaine (state charge) and drug paraphernalia and was cited for operating after suspension after police found a crack pipe between the center console and passenger seat of his vehicle and a corner cut plastic bag containing cocaine in his wallet when he was pulled over in the 3200 block of East Forest Hill Avenue at about 6:05 p.m. June 21.

17 A male and a female were arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after police found two metal pipes with THC residue, a metal grinder and a glass bong underneath the driver's seat of their vehicle after it was pulled over for reckless driving at Value Cinema, 6912 S. 27th St., at about 8 p.m. June 23.

Drunken driving

18 A man was arrested for drunken driving (second offense) and was cited for failure to keep a vehicle under control and operating without a valid license after he drove into a median in the 7100 block of South 10th Street and was found passed out behind the steering wheel at about 11:25 p.m. June 17. The suspect admitted drinking several mixed drinks, and police believe he had also taken a pill form of a cough suppressant.

19 A man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia and possession of alcohol by an underage adult after finding a backpack in his car containing a glass Mason jar with about 14 grams of marijuana; an electronic scale; plastic sandwich bags; rolling papers; a half-empty bottle of gin; a marijuana grinder; an electronic vaporizer THC pipe; raw THC gel and other drug-related items in the 8200 block of South Darcy Drive at about 11:45 p.m. June 18. The driver admitted everything in the backpack belonged to him but denied selling marijuana and stated he only uses the items to package marijuana individually for his personal, daily use.

20 A woman was arrested for drunken driving after her vehicle was pulled over for expired registration in the 7300 block of South Pennsylvania Avenue at about 1:30 a.m. June 19. A chemical breath test indicated a blood alcohol content of 0.15.

21 A man was arrested for drunken driving and cited for non-registration of a vehicle and operating after suspension after an officer observed his car swerving back and forth in the 6300 block of South 27th Street at about 2:40 a.m. June 19. A chemical breath test indicated a BAC of 0.19.

22 A man was arrested for drunken driving after an officer found his vehicle stopped in the middle of the roadway in the 600 block of West Rawson Avenue at about 1:30 a.m. June 21. The driver admitted drinking since about 7 p.m. June 20 and stated he drank about one-half pint of vodka and had pulled over because he was too intoxicated to drive. The driver and a male passenger in his car were also cited for possessing open intoxicants in a vehicle after police found a cup containing vodka stuck in the passenger side door when they exited the vehicle. The driver refused chemical breath testing and was taken into custody, and the passenger was also taken into custody for a probation violation.

23 A woman was arrested for drunken driving and cited for operating after suspension after she was pulled over for traveling 29 mph in a 45-mph zone and then crossed over the divider lines and traveled southbound down the middle of the road in the 1000 block of South Howell Avenue at about 2:55 a.m. June 21. A chemical breath test indicated a BAC of 0.14.

24 A man was arrested for second-offense drunken driving, fleeing/eluding an officer and driving the wrong way on a divided highway after he fled from an officer who attempted to pull him over in the 7200 block of South 27th Street. He eventually crashed into a tree at 25th and Henry in Milwaukee at about 2:50 a.m. June 22. A chemical breath test indicated a BAC of 0.13.

25 A man was arrested for drunken driving and received a written warning for a loud muffler in the 100 block of East Forest Hill Avenue at about 10:10 p.m. June 22. A chemical breath test indicated a BAC of 0.22.

Accidents

26 Two people were transported to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital after their car was rear-ended by a vehicle in the 1800 block of West Rawson Avenue at about 12:55 p.m. June 10. The striking vehicle fled the scene of the accident, and the driver was later located at her home in Milwaukee, where she was arrested and taken into custody for hit and run (causing injury).

Vandalism

27 A woman reported someone slashed the passenger side tires of her vehicle while it was parked at Farm & Fleet, 501 W. Rawson Ave., sometime between 4 and 5 p.m. June 18. Surveillance video showed a heavy-set white male wearing a black baseball cap, purple T-shirt and black baseball-style shorts pull up next to the victim's vehicle in a dark-colored, four-door vehicle, walk up to the passenger side of the victim's vehicle and then get back into his car and leave. Damage is estimated at $400.

Other

28 A juvenile male was cited for disorderly conduct after he repeatedly touched and made sexual advances towards a juvenile female in a classroom at Oak Creek East Middle School, 9330 S. Shepard Ave., at about 12:30 p.m. June 17. The boy apparently tried to hug the girl and then made comments to her and caressed her leg and thigh underneath a table during a class after repeatedly being told to leave her alone.

29 A resident in the 2300 block of West Hilltop Lane reported a "vicious brown mutt" ran through her yard and urinated on her house at about 2:15 p.m. June 17. The resident stated she was concerned because it's an ongoing issue, and she believes the dog is vicious and will attack her dog. Police gave a written warning to the dog owner for allowing her dog to run at large.

30 A man was cited for disorderly conduct after he went to his ex-wife's residence in the 4200 block of East Elm Road and threatened to shoot a man who was staying at her house at about 10:05 a.m. June 22.

31 A man was pulled over and cited for racing after a police officer saw him revving his engine alongside another vehicle and then accelerate to about 100 mph in the 9500 block of South 27th Street at about 1:40 a.m. June 22. He was also cited for possessing open intoxicants in a vehicle when police found three Spotted Cow beers inside his car, and a male passenger was also arrested for possession of alcohol by an underage adult and possessing open intoxicants in a vehicle after he admitted the beers were his.

32 A man was cited for carrying a concealed weapon after police found a semi-automatic BB handgun that looked like a real gun underneath his driver's seat at the pool area at Riverwood Arms, 535 W. Riverwood Drive, at about 6:45 p.m. June 22.

33 A woman called 911 to report there were two juvenile males in the parking lot wearing clown masks and carrying clubs and sticks at an apartment building in the 8800 block of South Oak Park Drive at about 6:35 a.m. June 23. Police located the suspects, who stated they were just goofing around during their sleepover. They were warned and advised by police not to scare their neighbors.

34 An unidentified, naked male attempted to get a female's attention while she was walking in the 8900 block of South Ridge Croft Drive at about 12:55 p.m. June 23. The victim stated she was walking home from summer school when she heard somebody repeatedly clearing their throat, as if to get her attention. She looked up and saw a naked man standing partially behind a car in a residential driveway, who then ran into a garage. She ran home and told her mother, who went outside and saw someone peeking out from behind the car in that driveway, but when she went to get her cell phone, the garage door closed, and moments later, a car left the residence. Police were unable to locate the subject.

35 A woman was arrested and cited for obstructing when she lied to police about the whereabouts of a wanted felon during a warrant arrest in the 7900 block of South Wildwood Drive at about 8 p.m. June 23. Police found the man hiding behind some clothing inside her bedroom closet, and he was also taken into custody.
