1 An unidentified male displayed a handgun and grabbed cash out of the register at 7-Eleven, 1225 W. Rawson Ave., about 3:55 p.m. April 14. The suspect is described as black, 5 feet 7 inches tall with a slim build, with a beard and wore a gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt, blue jeans and a gray knit cap.
2 A $50 DVD/Blu-ray player, a $400 video game system, a $200 7-inch flat screen JVC TV and a $100 cordless black drill were taken from a locked residence in the 8900 block of South Pennsylvania Avenue between 6 a.m. and 10:10 p.m. April 11. The front door was kicked in for entry, causing about $150 in damage.
3 An unidentified male shoplifted two drills, valued at $180 each, at Menards, 6800 S. 27th St., at about 9:20 a.m. April 9. The suspect, described as a white male wearing a long sleeve yellow shirt and gray pants, got into a vehicle that was occupied by two unidentified subjects and fled.
4 A quick change artist took $100 from South Shore Cinema, 7261 S. 13th St., at about 9:30 p.m. April 12. The suspect, described as black, 5 feet 9 inches tall with a thin build, facial "scruff" and wearing a black hoodie and white baseball hat, came into the theater and asked for change for a $100 bill. After the clerk gave him the change he said he changed his mind, and when the clerk gave him back his $100 bill he left the building.
5 A man and a woman were arrested for shoplifting after they were seen concealing 10 cans of baby formula, valued at $180, at Pick 'n Save, 2320 W. Ryan Road, inside a diaper bag at 12:05 p.m. April 13. The man was also arrested for possession of narcotics (state charge) after police found 15 Alprazolam and 29 oxycodone pills in his possession, and he was also taken into custody for a probation violation. The woman, who had an infant with her, left the store before police arrived. She was later located at a nearby Dunkin Donuts where she was arrested for shoplifting and obstructing an officer. She also had one open traffic warrant and two outstanding warrants for retail theft through the Waukesha Police Department.
6 A man was arrested for possession of marijuana and contributing to the delinquency of a child after police found five plastic bags containing a total of five grams of marijuana inside his vehicle in the 9300 block of South Burrell Street at about 2:30 p.m. April 8. The suspect admitted to purchasing the marijuana in Milwaukee and stated he was going to smoke it with several juveniles at Bender Park.
7 A boy was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia at East Groveland Drive and South Shepard Avenue at about 8:45 a.m. April 9. Officers had been responding to a report from an anonymous caller that a young male in a green Toyota has been seen "doing drugs" every day while driving through the intersection. Police found police found seven pipes, two grinders and a small amount of marijuana inside his car.
8 A male subject was arrested and cited for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after an officer found 2.5 grams of marijuana, two glass pipes and a bong inside his car during a traffic stop in the 2200 block of East Rawson Avenue at about 3:30 a.m. April 12.
9 A man was arrested for drunken driving after he was pulled over for speeding in the 2100 block of East Drexel Avenue at 2:20 a.m. April 10. His preliminary blood alcohol content was 0.14.
10 A man was arrested for drunken driving after he was pulled over for an unsafe lane deviation on East Fitzsimmons Road and South Howell Avenue at about 3 a.m. April 10. His preliminary BAC was 0.12.
11 A man was arrested for drunken driving after he failed to navigate the turn on a roundabout in the 2300 block of East College Avenue at about 2:30 a.m. April 13. The man drove over the median and struck a small pine tree. His preliminary BAC was 0.08.
12 A woman was arrested for drunken driving after a caller reported seeing a white Ford Focus with an orange barrel stuck under the front end of the car driving southbound on South Howell and West College avenues at about 7:30 p.m. April 13. The woman admitted to drinking two beers and shots and told police she was just trying to drive home. Her preliminary BAC was 0.26.
13 A man was arrested for drunken driving in the 9800 block of South Howell Avenue at about 3:40 a.m. April 15. His preliminary BAC was 0.14. Police had pulled over while they were investigating a prowling complaint.
14 One person was transported to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital for treatment of shoulder and neck pain after a vehicle ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle at the intersection of South Pennsylvania Avenue and East Puetz Road at about 6:15 p.m. April 1. The driver was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
15 A trailer was smashed with a sledgehammer in the 1200 block of East Puetz Road between April 6 and April 10. Personal belongings were also rummaged through and thrown on the ground.
16 An antenna was ripped off a vehicle, which also sustained a large dent in the passenger side front door, at a residence in the 10600 block of South Emerald Meadows Drive between 10 p.m. April 14 and 2:30 a.m. April 15.
17 The Oak Creek Fire Department and police responded to a ditch fire in the 9000 block of South Chicago Road at 12:55 p.m. April 10. The fire, which was extinguished before firefighters arrived, damaged a 30-by-100-foot area. It was apparently wind gusts that swept up debris from someone who was burning leaves nearby. No citation was issued.
18 Police and firefighters responded to a grass fire was out of control in the 800 block of West Oakwood Road at about 12:10 p.m. April 11. The owner of The Cellar was burning a small brush pile near a shed when the winds changed and the fire spread into a wooded and grassy area, burning about a quarter of an acre of his property. An officer used an extinguisher to knock out the flames and the Oak Creek Fire Department saturated the area to prevent further flare-ups. No citation was issued to the property owner.
19 A woman was arrested for disorderly conduct after she repeatedly punched a man in the face during an argument at Shell Gas, 2170 W. Ryan Road, at about 3:40 p.m. April 12. Although the male victim refused to pursue charges against her, police cited her due to the disruption she caused at the gas station and the drive-thru at a nearby KFC restaurant.
20 A woman was arrested and cited for loitering and possessing open intoxicants in a vehicle (nitrous oxide) the 10800 block of South Chicago Road at about 3:30 p.m. April 13. A 911 caller had reported someone was huffing an aerosol can inside her vehicle while it was parked on We Energies property.
21 Police arrested a man for criminal trespass to a building following a report of a prowler in the 500 block of East Fitzsimmons Road prior to 3:40 a.m. April 15. He was cited him for loitering after it was discovered he was responsible for entering several garages and rummaging through vehicles on Fitzsimmons Road. The man was a passenger in a car whose driver was arrested for drunken driving on South Howell Avenue.
· Thirteen Oak Creek residents reported identity theft after their Social Security numbers were used to file fraudulent 2013 tax returns between April 8 and April 15.
· Oak Creek police responded to two domestic violence calls and assisted with 26 rescue calls and four fire calls between April 8 and April 15.
