Police Report: Feb. 25

THEFT

1A gold wedding ring, gold earrings, a white gold ring and a yellow gold tennis bracelet were stolen from a home in the 9100 block of South Patricia Boulevard between Dec. 26 and Jan. 25. Loss is estimated at just less than $10,000. The victim stated that she had numerous get-togethers at the home during that time but had no idea who would have taken the items.

2Two people stole a cart filled with $303 worth of groceries, liquor and beer at Pick 'n Save, 8770 S. Howell Ave., at 4:35 p.m. Feb. 6. According to store security personnel, this was the second time in two months the same people — a thin, 5-foot, 10-inch Asian male with black shaggy hair and a 5-foot, 4-inch, white female with medium-length blue hair and dark-framed glasses — have shoplifted from the store. Police have video surveillance footage of the incident.

3A $70 winter coat was stolen out of a locker room at Oak Creek High School, 340 E. Puetz Road, between 3:30 and 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13.

4Money was stolen from a deposit inside a locked safe at Supercuts, 6508 S. 27th St., between 4 p.m. Feb. 16 and 9 a.m. Feb. 17. There were no signs of forced entry on the building or the safe. Police are following up with employees who had access to the safe.

5A man was arrested for shoplifting after he took an old receipt into Woodman's, 8131 S. Howell Ave., took the items listed on the receipt off the store shelves, then attempted to return them for cash about 6:45 p.m. Feb. 17. He ran from the store on foot and was found by police and admitted to the incident because he needed money to buy cigarettes.

6Police responded to Villa Vista Motel, 8060 S. 27th St., after receiving a report that a male broke into a female guest's room, grabbed an empty bottle of wine and threatened to hit her with it before stealing her purse, $75, an iPod and her driver's license, and then fled in a white vehicle with Illinois license plates, about 1:20 p.m. Feb. 18.

7A catalytic converter was stolen off a company vehicle in the lot at Fastenal Co., 430 W. Rawson Ave., between 5 p.m. Feb. 19 and 7 a.m. Feb. 20. Damage is estimated at $300.

8A catalytic converter was stolen off a 2011 Ford F150 parked at BMW Expeditors, 6876 S. 13th St., between midnight and 6 a.m. Feb. 20. Damage to the vehicle is estimated at $1,000.

9A woman was arrested for stealing a pair of Austrian crystal earrings at Sally's Beauty, 8907 S. Howell Ave., at 2:25 p.m. Feb. 20. She also was taken into custody on a South Milwaukee Police Department commitment for driving with a suspended license.

10Surveillance video shows three males in a white or silver four-door Honda Accord breaking into a vehicle in the parking lot at South Shore Cinema, 7261 S. 13th St., between 5:33 and 5:39 p.m. Feb. 21. They smashed a window to gain entry and stole a $50 Adidas backpack containing a $600 laptop computer, a $25 flash drive, a $150 wallet and $200 worth of textbooks.

11A resident of the 8000 block of South 13th Street reported his Samsung Galaxy tablet, valued at $179, was stolen off his nightstand between 7 a.m. and 1:45 p.m. Feb. 23. He stated he believed his brother stole his tablet and sold it to GameStop. Police questioned the victim's brother, who denied stealing the tablet, but then verified with GameStop that the victim's brother did sell the tablet to them for $35 that morning. Police were attempting to locate the victim's brother, and a person who accompanied him.

12Three people stole four Milwaukee Impact Driver combo kits, valued at $229 each, from Farm & Fleet, 501 W. Rawson Ave., and then fled after being chased by an assistant manager at 11:10 a.m. Feb. 23. The trio, described as one male and two females wearing white hooded sweatshirts, was last seen driving west on Rawson Avenue in a gold and silver vehicle, possibly a Cadillac, with damage to the front grill and no license plates.

ASSAULT

13A man was arrested for battery and disorderly conduct after he pulled a man out of his car and punched him in the face, causing a minor cut to his right cheek, then pushed the victim's wife to the ground, screamed profanities at her and threatened to beat her up and leave her for dead in the 300 block of West Rawson Avenue at 4:30 p.m. Feb. 18. The same person was arrested again the same evening after he became intoxicated, returned to the residence in violation of a no-contact order and threatened one of the victims again about 10:30 p.m. Police pursued his vehicle, but he failed to stop for officers until he reached his residence in the 1300 block of West Rawson Avenue. He was arrested for disorderly conduct, bail jumping, fleeing police and drunken driving.

DRUG POSSESSION

14A man was cited for possession of marijuana during a knock and talk at Days Inn, 1201 W. College Ave., at 8:30 p.m. Feb. 20.

15A man was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after a digital scale and two burnt blunts were found in his vehicle in the 2100 block of West College Avenue at 4:50 p.m. Feb. 21.

16A male was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after a marijuana grinder, pipe, digital scale, various brands of rolling papers and 1 gram of THC were found inside his vehicle in the 7300 block of South Clement Avenue at 3:45 p.m. Feb. 24.

DRUNKEN DRIVING

17A man was arrested for drunken driving after he struck another vehicle while attempting to make a left turn to go north on Howell Avenue from eastbound Ryan Road at 4:50 p.m. Feb. 20. His blood-alcohol content was 0.10.

18A man was arrested for drunken driving, second offense, and cited for speeding in the 800 block of East Drexel Avenue at 1:15 a.m. Feb. 22. His BAC was 0.17. A female passenger was cited for underage drinking.

19A woman was arrested for drunken driving after she was found passed out in the driver's seat of her vehicle in the 100 block of West Drexel Avenue at 4:30 a.m. Feb. 23. Her BAC was 0.15.

20A man was arrested for drunken driving after a patrol officer saw his car swerving and crossing the center line several times in the 100 block of East Drexel Avenue at 1 a.m. Feb. 24. He admitted to drinking one beer prior to driving before registering a 0.18 on the Intoximeter.

21A woman was arrested for drunken driving after a police officer saw her drive her car into a ditch in the 3900 block of East Fitzsimmons Road at 2:45 a.m. Feb. 24. Her BAC was 0.18.

VANDALISM

22A car's window was smashed at Candlewood Suites, 6440 S. 13th St., between 8 p.m. Feb. 16 and 7 a.m. Feb. 17. Damage is estimated at $250. The victim found a leather wallet containing identification for a retired investigator from the State of Wisconsin Department of Criminal Investigation on the pavement behind his vehicle and turned it in to police.

23Windows in four vehicles were smashed at Comfort Suites, 6440 S. 13th St., between the overnight hours of Feb. 16 and noon Feb. 17. It was unknown at the time of the report what, if anything, had been stolen out of the vehicles. Police are following up with the owners of the vehicles.

24Two vehicles were vandalized while parked at the U.S. Post Office, 7620 S. 10th St., between 3:30 and 11:30 p.m. Feb. 19. Damage is estimated at $1,500.

OTHER

25A counterfeit $10 bill was passed at Pick 'n Save, 8770 S. Howell Ave., about 4:05 p.m. Feb. 13. Police confiscated the bill and sent it to the U.S. Secret Service.

26A female attempted to pass two counterfeit $100 bills to purchase a blender at Kohl's, 9035 S. Howell Ave., about 4:15 p.m. Feb. 19. The woman left the parking lot in a silver Sonata with Illinois license plates. Police ran the suspect's license plate number but it did not match the vehicle.

27Three males were arrested for disorderly conduct and a female was cited for obstructing an officer after they were involved in a fight in the parking lot at Mainstay Suites, 1001 W. College Ave., at 1:45 a.m. Feb. 23. The female also was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police found 1.4 grams of marijuana and a pipe in her jacket pockets, and one male was arrested for possession of marijuana after police found 1.7 grams of marijuana in his possession.

28A member of the U.S. Air Force recruiting office, 10050 S. 27th St., reported receiving multiple threatening phone calls from a woman between 12:40 and 1:15 a.m. Feb. 27, who said she hopes his children will be harmed and his wife will be decapitated. The Air Force member believes the calls are coming from a woman who is blaming him for her husband's suicide in Oak Creek last year. A 24-hour patrol watch was requested at the recruiting station and at the service member's residence, and the investigation is ongoing.

· Oak Creek police responded to three domestic violence calls and assisted with 25 rescue calls between Feb. 17 and Feb. 25.
