1A cash register containing about $200 and a few personal checks was stolen during a burglary at Nail Design, 8880 S. Howell Ave., between midnight and 7 a.m. Dec. 10. A door at the rear of the business was smashed out to gain entry. Damage is estimated at $500.
2An employee at Blue Beacon truck wash, 9625 S. 20th St., was arrested for theft after she added extra hours to her time cards, resulting in the theft of $1,752 from her employer, between Sept. 16 and Dec. 10.
3Three people stole four power tools from Farm & Fleet, 501 W. Rawson Ave., reported then fled out the entry door into a waiting vehicle at 5:45 p.m. Nov. 26.
4The right front flasher assembly was stolen off a vehicle at Booth Manor, 180 W. Centennial Drive, between Dec. 7 and 2 p.m. Dec. 14. Loss is estimated at $100.
5Two $50 bills were stolen out of a purse in the employee break room at Creek Side Terrace, 8861 S. 13th St., between 7:20 a.m. and noon Dec. 10.
6A $250 power saw and a $150 reciprocating saw were stolen from a truck at Menards, 6800 S. 27th St., about 9:20 a.m. Dec. 10. A man can be seen on surveillance footage driving up in a silver minivan and taking items from several vehicles before driving into the lot at Aldi. The man was Caucasian, in his 20s and had short, dark hair and a mustache. He was wearing glasses and a Menards sweatshirt.
7A $400 GPS unit, a backpack containing about $200 in textbooks and school supplies and about $5 in change were stolen from a vehicle at Farm & Fleet, 501 W. Rawson Ave., between 3:30 and 4 p.m. Dec. 10.
8Two men were arrested for receiving stolen property after they attempted to pick up more than $4,900 worth of tires that were purchased over the phone with a stolen credit card at Tedroc Tire, 9810 S. Ridgeview Drive, about 3:45 p.m. Dec. 12. They told police they were hired by a stranger in Chicago to drive a U-Haul truck rented by another stranger to pick up the tires so they could each be paid $200 by an unknown person at an unknown time and place.
9A carton of cigarettes, $50 in change and prescription pain medication were stolen from an unlocked vehicle in the 600 block of East Laverne Drive between the late evening hours of Dec. 12 and 7:30 a.m. Dec. 13. A second car parked in the driveway was entered but nothing was reported stolen from that vehicle.
10A $600 cellphone in a clip holster was stolen from the locker room at Applied Plastics, 7320 S. Sixth St., between 10:45 and 11 p.m. Dec. 12. The victim used a location app that showed the phone was on Packard Avenue in Cudahy, and police are following up with people who were working that night.
11About $90 in change was stolen from two unlocked vehicles in the 8100 block of South Alisa Lane between 1 and 7 a.m. Dec. 13.
12Sixteen checks were stolen out of a business account for Auberry House, 10320 S. Hummingbird Lane, and fraudulently cashed for a total of $4,868 between Oct. 28 and Nov. 26. The crime was reported to police Dec. 13. The fraudulent/forged checks were allegedly made out to a relative of the business' owner, and an officer was following up at the time of the report.
13A male was arrested for shoplifting a bottle of Southern Comfort at Pick 'n Save, 6462 S. 27th St., about 5:30 p.m. Dec. 13.
14An employee at Woodman's, 8131 S. Howell Ave., reported that a man had just attempted to shoplift nine packs of Red Bull energy drinks, valued at $163, but instead fled in a tan Kia, leaving the drinks behind, when he realized he was being watched at 8 a.m. Dec. 15. Police have identified a suspect and are following up.
15A male attempted to shoplift a $280 infrared electric fireplace, $36 worth of antifreeze and a $500 six-tool combo kit at Farm & Fleet, 501 W. Rawson Ave., but fled the lot in a silver Durango without the unpaid merchandise after being followed out to the parking lot by a store employee at 2:40 p.m. Dec. 15. Police identified the man through the vehicle registration and issued a warrant for his arrest Dec. 16.
16Seven tablet computers were stolen at Farm & Fleet, 501 W. Rawson Ave., Dec. 15. Loss is estimated at $1,400. Police are following up with the business to view video surveillance footage.
17A purse containing $200, a debit card and prescription medication was stolen out of a cart while the victim was shopping for clothing at Target, 8989 S. Howell Ave., about 7:20 p.m. Dec. 16. Police are following up with the business to view security video of the incident.
18A man was arrested for battery after he pushed a woman to the ground and choked her after she asked him to leave her home in the 8900 block of South Wood Creek Drive about 9:55 p.m. Dec. 14.
19A male was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after police found 33.5 grams of marijuana in his car, along with a homemade bong and metal pipe, at LaQuinta, 7141 S. 13th St., at 1:20 a.m. Dec. 14.
20Officers responding to a report of a heavy smell of marijuana coming from a room at Days Inn, 1201 W. College Ave., arrested a male for possession of marijuana after he threw 10.8 grams of THC out a window in his room when police knocked on his door at 1:20 a.m. Dec. 14.
21A man was arrested for possession of marijuana after police found a plastic bag containing 6.5 grams of THC in his pocket after responding to a disorderly conduct report in the 8600 block of South Ventana Drive about 1:30 a.m. Dec. 15.
22A female was arrested for drunken driving in the 10300 block of South 27th Street at 1:55 a.m. Dec. 15. Her blood-alcohol content was 0.16.
23A male was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia after police found a syringe in his pants pocket during a traffic stop in the 1600 block of East Rawson Avenue at 11:30 p.m. Dec. 11. The driver also was cited for speeding and received a written warning for not having proof of insurance.
24A male passed a counterfeit $100 bill at Pick 'n Save, 2320 W. Ryan Road, at 2:05 p.m. Dec. 12. The suspect, a white male wearing glasses and a black coat, used the fraudulent bill to purchase $18 worth of alcohol.
25An employee called 911 after two males got out of their vehicles and started physically fighting outside the drive-thru window at Walgreens, 9449 S. Howell Ave., at 6:40 p.m. Dec. 12. After questioning them, police learned both men were driving south on Howell Avenue when one of the drivers signaled and moved into the right lane, which caused the other driver to flash his headlights at him because he nearly caused a collision. The men were warned and advised about road rage and disorderly conduct but were not cited.
26Officers responded to the 3800 block of East American Avenue after a caller reported finding a deer that had been shot with an arrow on the side of the roadway about 5:15 p.m. Dec. 13. The officers followed the deer tracks into the woods south of American Avenue and east of Eighth Avenue, where they found corn spread out on the ground behind a residence. Police forwarded the information to the Department of Natural Resources.
27A truck driver called police after a naked female refused to get out of his truck at Love's Travel Center, 9650 S. 20th St., about 4:45 p.m. Dec. 15. The driver said he felt sorry for the woman and agreed to give her a ride, but when he returned to his truck and found her naked he told her to get out and she refused to leave. The female admitted she asked the driver for a ride, but took off her clothes because she wanted to take a "shower" with baby wipes and denied soliciting the driver for sex. The driver told police he just wanted her out of his truck and didn't want to press charges, and since there was no evidence of solicitation, police gave the woman a ride to Pilot on Highway K in Racine.
