1A contractor met with police on Jan. 30 to report that $8,916 worth of tools and equipment were taken from a job site during construction of a new subdivision in the 1800 block of East Oakwood Boulevard between June and December 2012.
2A 12-volt, 1700-amp battery pack, valued at $200, was taken from the Diesel Shop at Milwaukee Area Technical College, 6665 S. Howell Ave., between Dec. 18 and Jan. 24. Although the staff could not provide a serial identification number to police, they stated that "Stolen from MATC Diesel Shop" was written on the battery pack in bright yellow paint.
3A digital media player valued at $225 was taken from a classroom at Oak Creek High School, 340 E. Puetz Road, at about 11:10 a.m. Jan. 30.
4A $250 CD/MP3 player and $700 worth of CDs were taken from a locked car at Milwaukee Area Technical College, 6665 S. Howell Ave., between 5:20 p.m. and 7 p.m. Jan. 30. The car may have been entered through a back door where the lock is malfunctioning.
5A 41-year-old South Milwaukee woman was arrested for shoplifting after she concealed two $55 Donald Driver Green Bay Packers jerseys in her purse and left the store without paying at Kohl's, 9035 S. Howell Ave., at 10:25 a.m. Feb. 1.
6A $100 jacket containing a set of keys was taken from behind the bar at Erv's Mug, 130 W. Ryan Road, between midnight and 2:30 a.m. Feb. 2. Security video is being reviewed.
7A 40-year-old Milwaukee man was arrested for shoplifting at Menards, 6800 S. 27th St., at 5:55 p.m. Feb. 2. Store officials said he attempted to return a $248 faucet for cash when he initially paid only $16 for it by switching the price tag prior to purchasing it.
8A man's wallet containing a driver's license, two debit cards and a credit card was taken from an unlocked car parked at United Rentals, 9401 S. 13th St., between 7 p.m. Feb. 2 and 1 a.m. Feb. 3. The victim also stated numerous fraudulent charges were made on his credit and debit cards.
9A 26-year-old Oak Creek woman was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and cited for loitering after an officer saw her meeting and collecting money from other people while she was parked in the lot at Woodman's, 8131 S. Howell Ave., at 11:50 a.m. Jan. 29. The woman admitted she was collecting money from people so that she could purchase Percocet pills from a source in Racine.
10Officers responding to a medical emergency call at a residence in the 3700 block of East Ryan Road arrested a 21-year-old Oak Creek man for possession of drug paraphernalia at about 11:30 p.m. Jan. 29. Police found syringes, a spoon and sponges that tested positive for heroin in the man's room. He was transported to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital for evaluation.
11A 16-year-old Franklin boy was cited for possession of marijuana after the school resource officer located 0.5 grams of marijuana in his left sock at Oak Creek High School, 340 E. Puetz Road, at 11 a.m. Jan. 30.
12A 20-year-old Milwaukee man was cited for possession of drug paraphernalia after officers found a tin foil pipe and a tin container with burned residue in his possession during a traffic stop in the 1000 block of West College Avenue at 9:05 p.m. Jan. 30.
13A 15-year-old Oak Creek boy was arrested for possession of marijuana in the 1100 block of East Connie Lane at about 11:45 p.m. Feb. 2.
14A 21-year-old Lodi man was arrested for possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia after the K9 Unit located a marijuana pipe and a plastic bag containing 2 grams of marijuana in his car during a traffic stop on South 13th Street and West College Avenue at 10:50 p.m. Feb. 2. The man was also taken into custody for having a valid warrant for obstructing police through the South Milwaukee Police Department.
15A 21-year-old Caledonia woman was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia when an officer found a two-inch hollow plastic tube with white, powdery residue in her pocket after she was pulled her over for driving with a suspended license in the 8800 block of South 13th Street at 10:45 p.m. Feb. 4. The woman admitted using the tube to snort Percocets.
16A 40-year-old Franklin man was transported to Wheaton Franciscan Hospital with back, neck and rib pain after he rear-ended one vehicle while driving northbound in the 8000 block of South 27th Street, then struck a second vehicle in the left lane at 3:37 p.m. Feb. 1. He was cited for following too closely.
17A resident in the 3900 block of East Greenway Drive called police after he sold some cellphones to an unidentified man and received $550 in counterfeit $50 bills on Jan. 28. Due to similar incidents in the area, an investigation is ongoing.
18A 17-year-old Oak Creek boy was arrested for disorderly conduct after he kept using loud vulgarities in front of other students at Oak Creek High School, 340 E. Puetz Road, at 1:15 p.m. Feb. 1.
19A resident contacted police after discovered he had a $5 counterfeit bill at Speedway, 8667 S. Howell Ave., at 3:55 p.m. Feb. 3. The man told police he received the $5 bill as change for a breakfast he bought at the South Milwaukee McDonald's at about 10:30 a.m. A Speedway clerk told him it was counterfeit when he tried to use it to pay for gas. Police confiscated the bill and are investigating.
20A 49-year-old Oak Creek woman called police after the driver of a Jeep that was tailgating her pulled up beside her and threw a cup of coffee on her through her open car window at the intersection of South Howell Avenue and West Drexel Avenue at about 6 a.m. Feb. 4. The woman stated she had rolled down her window to tell the driver he was driving poorly when he got out of his car and threw the coffee. Attempts to contact the subject, a 51-year-old Milwaukee man, were unsuccessful and police are following up.
21Firefighters and police responded Oak Creek High School, 340 E. Puetz Road, after a 911 caller reported the fire alarm was sounding and students were being evacuated from the building at 10:48 a.m. Jan. 30. An investigation revealed an instructor in the science lab was burning some magnesium and the fumes set off the smoke detector. There was no damage to the lab or building and the students and staff were allowed to return.
Oak Creek police assisted with 21 rescue calls and three fire calls between Jan. 29 and Feb. 5.
