Welcome to Bookmark, the online version of the Oak Creek Public Library???s newsletter. The library, established in 1972, is dedicated to helping people of all ages and from all walks of life get the information they need to lead better lives. We provide members of the community with informational, educational and recreational materials and services of various types.
Attention parents and caregivers: The Oak Creek Public Library's In-Person Registration for our Spring Toddler Time begins Wednesday, March 10 at 10:00 a.m. Toddlers ages 18 to 35 months are eligible for this free program. Space is limited. Oak Creek residents are given first priority. For more information call 764-4400.
The Oak Creek Public Library is running a Large Print Book sale. Selections run from romance to westerns with everything in between, and, best of all books are only fifty cents each. You won't want to miss this once-a-year large print book sale.
Due to the snow storm the library will be closing at 5:00 p.m. today. We will reopen at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow, February 10. We apologize for the inconvenience.
Jump start your New Year's resolutions with some library materials on eating healthier, organizing your life, getting in touch with your spirituality, learning a new trade, exploring a hobby and more! Find materials on display when you first walk in the front door. Enjoy!
Attorney Michael Sullivan will be holding a conversation on wills, transfers without a will, Powers of Attorney, and (real life) estate humor. You won't want to miss this important discussion. The program is FREE and there will be no solicitations. So mark your calendar for Thursday, September 10 at 1:00!
The Oak Creek Public Library's Fall Story Time Registration (In-Person Only) Begins Wednesday, September 9 at 10:00 AM. Story Time sessions start September 23 and run through October 28. Class times are 10:30, 1:30 and 6:00 and last approximately 45 minutes. For more information call 764-4400.
Attention: All participants in the Children's and Young Adult Library Summer Reading Clubs at the Oak Creek Public Library--this Thursday, August 6 is the final day to pick up your prizes. Come early-- there will only be staff here to hand out prizes until 6:30 PM.
The Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library's Annual Book Sale is almost here. This is the one you've been waiting for. Mark your calendar for Tuesday August 4 from 5 - 8 PM. There will be something for everyone--Books in hardcover and paperback--DVDs--Videos--CDs--and children's books, too.
The Young Dance Adademy will present a dance style demonstration Tuesday, July 21 at 1:30 PM at the Oak Creek Public Library. This program is targeted for a grade school audience. Please come early as seating is limited. Free program. No registration required.
The Oak Creek Public Library will burst with bubbles Thursday, July 16 at 1:00 and 3:00 PM. Renown Bubbleologist Karl Debelack will demonstrate the entertaining 'science of bubbles' followed by kids blowing their own creative bubbles outdoors. No registration. Come early--seating is limited. Don't miss out on all the fun!
The Oak Creek High School Production Company performs Kathryn Walat's Androcles and the Lion Tuesday, July 14 at 1:30 PM at the Oak Creek Public Library. No registration required. Come early--seating is limited.

Able the Dancing Chihuahua is coming to the Oak Creek Public Library Tuesday, June 23 at 1:30 p.m. You won't want to miss this FREE program for Grades 1 through 6. No registration required. Come early. Seating is limited.

The Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library are seeking donations for our annual book sale. We are accepting adult and children's materials: hard and softcover books, paperbacks, CDs, DVDs, video cassettes, and audio cassettes. We will be collecting items now through July 31.
Please mark your materials "Friends Book Sale" and drop them off at the library's circulation desk.
Then be sure to mark your calendar for Tuesday, August 4 from 5 - 8 p.m. for our annual book sale. Items are priced at 25 cents and we will have something for everyone.
Thanks for your donations and your support. We look forward to seeing you at our sale!
Your donations are always welcome provided they fall within our guidelines. Donations are tax deductible and a receipt is given if requested. All donations become the property of the Oak Creek Public Library and the library reserves the right to dispose of the materials as they desire.
Staff will accept: The following items will be accepted as long as they are in good condition and no more three years old: Adult and children's paperbacks and hardcover books, compact discs, CD-ROMs, and DVDs.
Staff cannot accept ENCYCLOPEDIAS, MAGAZINES, TEXTBOOKS, ANY MATERIALS THAT HAVE MILDEW, MOLD OR COVERED WITH COBWEBS, and PREVIOUSLY DISCARDED LIBRARY MATERIALS.
Staff cannot: Place a value on your materials or pick up your materials; they must be dropped off at the library.
The Friends of the Oak Creek Public Library's annual meeting is Thursday, April 30 at 4:30 PM.
New members are greatly encouraged to come to the meeting. Come see what the Friends are all about.
