Mr. Ashbaugh,

I'm trying to understand that this is your blog consisting of your own personal opinions and views. Everyone has theirs. In my opinion, your view of tattoo and body piercing shops are very closed-minded. For the record, I have my ears pierced and one tattoo on my ankle that has a very personal meaning to me.

I'm curious as to whether you've recently driven through Oak Creek at night to see how many businesses actually use red and blue "open" signs? Or if you've met current veterans after WWII that got tattoos and not regretted them, but we're proud to show of the service they have given to this country?

It's surprising that you didn't give one thought to "personal choice" when seeing the young woman at Lions Fest. I'm not dis-allowing that her friends maybe influenced her or that "gramps & gramma" may have chosen differently for her. However, you indicated she volunteered. She gave her own personal time selflessly to the community, but was judged by you. She made a choice. It may not have been the one you chose, but that's why it's hers. She certainly will not be given the choice to contribute to her own community economically if your majority rules against a shop she may or may not choose to frequent.

As for "gramps & gramma", other family members, and friends; it's my opinion that unconditional love and acceptance is what counts. Not an orange marble.

AND ANOTHER THING I FORGOT THAT ALWAYS BOTHERED ME IS WHY ARE ALL OF THESE KID'S ON MY LAWN???? I YELL ALL THE TIME "get off my lawn you kids" BUT IT DOESN'T MAKE ANY DIFFERENCE. I REMEMBER IN THE 20'S IT WAS JUST COMMON DECENCY TO STAY OFF A MAN'S LAWN. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT'S WRONG WITH AMERICA AND THE CITY CAN GO CRAZY AND APPROVE ALL THE SIDEWALKS THEY WANT, BUT IT WON'T MAKE THIS BLOGGER HAPPY.

Jerry...
3 times now you've been told that WRITING IN UPPER CASE LETTERS is a form of shouting...and I guess that is what your Blog is..a shouting match. Frankly it's boring and blogging once every other month on personal beefs with the City are wasting space on this website.

If you really love this city, then complain about the new Credit Union being built on Howell....another bank! How about forcing Bolender to find a business that people who might not be residents of Oak Creek that are driving down Howell might be tempted to stop in....how many "drive-by" customers will a credit union bring in compared to Sonic or Woodmans? Heck, is someone was coming over for a Tattoo at one of those places you dont want, they might spend a few bucks at Woodmans, Ace, Sonic, but doubtful they are gonna say "Hey lets stop in at the credit union or bank and see what they have".

Jerry,
I'm sure that you will try your hardest to change Lion policy to not accept any help (money or time) from an inked\pierced person.I also trust that any current members will be dismissed that don't meet the new elitist criteria. You may have to retrain the remaining lions on how to spot the "dirty people".So they do not take any money from them when they want a beer at the lions fest or a ride ticket for the kiddies.I guess you will also be checking the "carnies" for tatts/piercings.(I'm sure all the bikers will understand why you will be turning them away.)
You also took a shot at our veterans.Isn't the Lions fest held on the Legion grounds.
With all due respect sir.Take a look around. If you don't have ink or a piercing YOU ARE IN THE MINORITY.

I imagine inked/pierced people were turned away from the Oak Creek Elite Blood Drive. I mean Oak Creek Lions Blood Drive.Who in their right mind would want to get "those type of people's" blood.
