Let’s give all candidates a lot of credit -- they all had one thing in common: to make Oak Creek a better place and to give much effort and time for their city.
Constituents only agree with their alderman and mayor about 55% or 60% of the time! That tells me that it is hard to keep everyone happy. Therefore, that tells me we had first- and second-place finishers. No losers!

The Oak Creek High School girls softball team and boys baseball team recently held their first annual fundraiser at the Lower Legion Hall. What a well-organized event! Businesses and other donors were very generous with raffle prizes, food and beverages were abundant, and there was a very large attendance!
The girls softball team is a “dark horse” in preseason picks by the experts. But this blogger sees a much better team and finish than the “pros” do!
The boys baseball team is a different story! All players on last year’s state qualifier team are returning. They will be ranked No.1 in the state before the season starts – at least as this blogger sees it. One of the biggest jobs for the coaches will be to keep the team from reading the press clippings!! The season should be fun. How about having all of our citizens “come on down” to Abendschein Park to root for the Knights. Bring kids, blankets, folding chairs -- or use the bleachers – and enjoy food and beverages!

Oak Creek has one of the nicest Little League complexes in the state. It has put our city on map with girls softball and boys baseball -- as the trips to state finals will attest. There is only one “father” of Oak Creek’s Little League! He had a goal and he had many obstacles, but he persevered!
This blogger would like to see him honored in some way. How does the name Frank Field sound for the major diamond? We’ll see what can be done?

Howell Avenue is “main street” in Oak Creek. It has been brought to this blogger’s attention that there are a whole lot of American flags from College Avenue to Ryan Road at many places of business, shopping malls and residences, but there are many who don’t display flags.
Wouldn’t it be nice to have everyone on Howell Avenue put up an American flag? If you can help, I will post the names of all new flag bearers!

This blogger, being a graduate of Oak Creek’s Citizens Police Academy, recently caught his second shoplifter. The first was at the Farm & Fleet store a few years back! The most recent “bust” I am reluctant to discuss at this time. I may need the help of the “witness protection program” -- for my safety’s sake!
