The Oak Creek Common Council on Monday approved the South 27th Street Corridor Plan agreement, committing the city to spend $500,000 on enhanced lighting for the corridor.
Midwest Airlines' name will remain, some of its jets will still have wide seats, and the carrier promises more nonstop routes from Milwaukee under the ownership of Republic Airways Holdings Inc. of Indianapolis.

Oak Creek's parade begins at 9 a.m. at Edgewood School, 8545 S. Shepard Ave., and will wind its way to East Middle School, 9330 S. Shepard Ave. The American Legion Post, 9327 S. Shepard Ave., will host a variety of fun activities, beginning at 11:30 a.m. Tee-ball and baseball games will be played from 1 to 4 p.m. Fireworks are at dusk. Check out a full schedule of events.
